natural resources by thrusting the oil guzzling economic engine through the stratosphere without a spare tank in tow. Now, the planet has reached terminal velocity on a downward spiral and there is no emergency exits in sight. Our only way out of this global mess is to either put our head between the knees and brace for the impact, or bound together and learn the art of stitching renewable fabrics in order to create one hell of a parachute to cushion the planet fall. - No telling where we will land when the price of oil hit that proverbial fan.
Here at FlowSense, we have been cross-stitching our own sustainability fabric by reducing tangible costs of fuel & energy usage in our business. On the contrary, it does not take LEED certification or other complex measuring sticks to obtain "green" results. The straight line toward nirvana is through common sense practices for sustainability. It could be as simple as retrofitting lighting, building energy management, plumbing, insulation, and even using earth worms for organic waste recycling.
Let's Get Real
Thanks to our former vice president Al Gore for taking the global warning issues to the mainstream society, and knowing that opportunities do exist within chaos. The current green revolution movement is uncommonly active with both the old guards and the new recruits all marching to the same cadence. It's no longer the question of how much it will cost to go green, but how much saving (i.e. profit) it will yield.
FlowSense has been preparing for the green revolution over the past year by focusing on energy retrofit projects and has gained moderate success in this arena. In the past two years, revenue has gone up 1000 percent and 500 percent respectively. the deliberate scale back in growth was due to diversification of time and resources toward our constituted mission statement and mantra, "Solutions for Sustainability". We learn by doing it well and focusing on what we know while trekking toward a journey of hope.
Moreover, we're constantly exploring real sustainability solutions with potential partners to expand our capabilities beyond construction and facility services and will ultimately include civil, architecture, and surveying. Because of FlowSense fast growth and potential for high ROI, we will seek out active investors and advisors to position FlowSense on a global scale for all green things to come.
