FlowSense former intern awarded Fulbright Scholarship for economic development research in Vietnam
FlowSense, LLC, Maple Grove, MN - April 2008. FlowSense announced today that a former intern at FlowSense was awarded a Fulbright scholarship for economic development research in Vietnam.
Marianne Smallwood, presently working in Hanoi as a Systems Development Officer at ChildFund in Vietnam, will conduct research in Hanoi, Vietnam for one full year.

During her research year, Marianne will study the lives of Hanoi's street fruit vendors, with a specific emphasis on women.
Her study will focus on three areas: (1) the daily lives of these entrepreneurs, including their work-based relationships and personal histories; (2) their current marketing and distribution strategies |

and any existing gaps needing to be filled; and (3) developments necessary to more strongly support this niche based on their stated business needs.
ChildFund in Vietnam, established in 1995, is a non-governmental organization (NGO). The organization works with children and their communities to create lasting and significant change by supporting long-term community development and promoting children’s rights. ChildFund in Vietnam operates in education, health care, clean water, environmental hygiene, and child protection.
The Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FSB) is a presidentially appointed twelve-member board that is responsible for establishing worldwide policies for the Fulbright Program and for selection of Fulbright recipients. Fulbright alumni have become heads of state, judges, ambassadors, cabinet ministers, CEOs, and university presidents. They have been awarded thirty-seven Nobel Prizes.
