FlowSense awarded contract to supply laboratory equipment to Kenya
FlowSense, LLC, Maple Grove, MN - August 24, 2005. FlowSense announced today that its environmental & health services team has been awarded a contract from the Centers for Disease Controls and Prevention (CDC) to provide a hematology analyzer destined for Nairobi, Kenya.
The award specified a complete hematology analysis system with installation to be completed in Nairobi, Kenya, along with one year of technical support. “This contract is especially meaningful considering that FlowSense's mission statement has always been to help create a safer and healthier environment for the global community," stated Flowsense president Paul Smallwood. "Given the great risk of HIV and AIDS in Kenya, this opportunity to help prevent the spread of these diseases and support CDC is most satisfying both personally and professionally," said Smallwood.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is one of the 13 major operating components of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the principal agency in the United States government responsible for protecting the health and safety of all Americans and for providing essential human services, especially for those people who are least able to help themselves.
